County Wide Communications System

Calhoun County 9-1-1 District manages the mission-critical communications for Public Safety Agencies

The system consists of:

  • 9 RF Tower Sites
  • 35 Microwave Data Point to Point Systems
  • 122 RF Base stations
  • 30 Dispatch Consoles Systems
  • A large number of Network Hardware and Servers

The system became operational in 1998 and has undergone a continued evolution to the latest in technology that has to serve Public Safety Agencies in the county 24/7/365 Days a year.

The solution was established to address the need for common digital public safety radio communications and provide compatible interoperability and compatibility amongst its users in our county or neighboring public safety agencies.

Calhoun County System is primarily funded by its subscribers. Public Safety Agencies (LAW, FIRE, EMS) being the large majority of the subscribers of the system.
